I does not look like I will be able to check into the Tuesday Information Net this week, so here are some items for the announcements section of the net :

Net Control Operators Needed – Net can be done by more than one person. For instance an experienced operator can take check ins and then hand off net control duties to a second operator.

HRiTP - Ham Radio in the Park

May 20 at City Lake Pavilion from 10am until 3pm. Bring out a project to work on or help others with their projects. Or, just come hang out and operate an HF station for a while.

The Ark-La-Tex Amateur Radio Club Tailgate Sale will be taking place at The Texas Museum of Broadcasting & Communications, 416 East Main Street, Kilgore, TX, Saturday, May 13, 2017, 7:00AM - 12:00 Noon .


Mesquite Rodeo Road Rally ( Bike Ride )

The Rally is attractive to the entire family with three routes of 20 miles, 40 miles and 60 miles. The event will start at the Mesquite Rodeo Convention Center, 1700 Rodeo Drive (near Military Parkway and I-635 L.B.J. Freeway) at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017.


ARRL VHF Contest
The second full weekend in June. Begins 1800 UTC Saturday, runs through 0259 UTC Monday (June 10-12, 2017).
For amateurs in the US and Canada to work as many amateur stations in as many different Maidenhead grid squares as possible using authorized frequencies above 50 MHz.

Ham-Com
On Friday and Saturday June 9th and 10th is the area’s largest amateur radio convention, Ham-Com 2017. It will be held at the Irving Convention Center again this year with indoor area opening at 8am each day and closing at 5:00pm each day. Field Day
Information Packets are available for download from the ARRL website.
On the last full weekend of June (Saturday June 24th and Sunday June 25th) is the annual ARRL Field Day 24 hour event. This is a fun event and provides the opportunity to those, both licensed and unlicensed to get on HF and learn a bit about radio procedure and operation in long distance communication.
